A welcome to our church from our Minister

Whether you’ve lived in Mid Argyll all your days, are new to the area or maybe on holiday for a few weeks, Dalriada Mid Argyll Church meets in five places (Achahoish, Ardrishaig, Kilmartin, Lochgilphead and Tayvallich) where the busyness of life can be replaced with spiritual refreshment, rest and nourishment to rival even the most relaxing of holidays.

In Mid Argyll and within each of our places of worship you’ll find the opportunity to enjoy not only the dramatic beauty of God’s creation but God himself.

You are very welcome to join with us as you are able, but our Sunday Services are in different locations and at different times week by week, so please check the worship rota or calendar for up to date information.

We have just marked our 1st Anniversary. Our congregation was formed on 1st July 2023 when the five former Church of Scotland parishes in Mid Argyll united to form Dalriada Mid Argyll. This is a new season in our history and a time of new things. As a church we are going into this new season seeking to learn God’s plan for this historic yet contemporary community. It may be a time for us and you to stop some things, but then to discover others.

Over time we will discover new ways to look after our church family and community as well as finding how to encourage appropriate ways and times to worshipping God in these changing times.

However, God is fully God in every season of life. So this time of change has a place in God’s greater purposes for all humankind–His purposes are good for all. It is sufficient for now to know that we can rest in his hands. He is able to bring us through stronger and wiser, refreshed and renewed.
So whether you are on holiday (or planning to be on one in Mid Argyll), or a visitor or a resident know this from Psalm 1, a psalm that reflects something of creation’s beauty — if we look to God in trust and faith we will be like a tree which is planted by the stream which flourishes even if the circumstances become hostile and threatening.

Happy is the one who has not walked in the advice of the wicked,
nor stood in the way of sinners,
nor sat in the seat of scoffers.
But his delight is in the Torah of ADONAI,
and on His Torah he meditates day and night.
He will be like a planted tree over streams of water,
producing its fruit during its season.
Its leaf never droops—
but in all he does, he succeeds.
